Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I've worked as a singer/songwriter, touring artist and session musician in both Nashville and New York City. I'm proud to call Memphis home again when I'm not on tour.
As the son of two teachers, I've seen first-hand how important great teaching can be in a young student's life. My first formal teaching experience came while working at Camp Laney--a summer camp for boys--during college. While there, I had the pleasure of working with students of varying ages and experience levels in guitar, voice, and even songwriting. I've also been a guest lecturer at Lausanne Collegiate School's occasional creative workshops. There, students with creative passions can get intensive instruction on any given field of interest. My sessions have mostly focused on creative writing and performance.
Every student is different. It's my mission to understand the goals and preferred learning styles of each individual student and meet them where they're most comfortable.
As stated above, my teaching style can vary with each student's individual needs. But I hope that my passion for music informs every session and inspires all students.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
OkAre you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
