I recently graduated from Visible Music College with a Bachelor's degree in Music Production with an emphasis on Bass Guitar. I have performed at almost every major venue in Memphis (The FedEx Forum, Redbirds Stadium, The Cannon Center, The New Daisy, etc.). I have taught college music appreciation classes, high school and middle band as well as elementary music. My time in an elementary classroom has taught me patience as an educator and I apply that patience and meticulous attention to detail into my private studio. I am a Taiwanese American violinist and I grew up in Boston. I started playing piano when I was 5 and then the violin at age 8. I enjoys teaching students of all ages and encourages early beginners! For children and adults alike, I teach from the Ed Friedland Bass Method Book 1. It was actually the book that I started out on and Friedland is a well done studio and live bassist. He is just as amazing on bass guitar as he is on double bass. Once the student has progressed from that book then I move on to sight seeing with the student. I draw from a wide range of supportive materials and repertoire. I develop each students lesson plans based on their aspirations or goals and each plan is tailored to meet them where they're at in their musical journey. I develp instructions and plans that keep their goals in mind while making sure they receive a full education during the lesson. Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I've worked as a singer/songwriter, touring artist and session musician in both Nashville and New York City. I'm proud to call Memphis home again when I'm not on tour. Read More
