I started playing the guitar at age 14. There was just something about it, I would find myself playing for hours on end. The sound, the feel. I loved all facets of playing the guitar. Instruments: Drums

I teach musical skills through the use of contemporary music while enforcing traditional concepts. I love to share the joy of playing drums with students of any level or age! For beginning students who are children, I start with some simple rhythmic concepts and some easy sight reading. When they have established some fundamentals on the set, I can teach them how to play a song that they love or different grooves that they will enjoy playing. Read More

Students learn best in different ways and at different paces. I enjoy getting to know my students' strengths and trying multiple strategies to help them learn new concepts. Learning to play an instrument is very special because students can see and hear their own progress in real time. This is what makes learning and teaching the horn so exciting! Read More

Instruments: Voice

The voice keeps on growing, changing and developing throughout our lifetime. My goal is for you to express your voice and let it be heard from deep within. Depending on what the student’s goal is, I will work accordingly. However, my sessions will be structured in the following way: - Teaching Vocal Technique that I have mastered during my studies at Berklee - Having the student sing and perform the tunes chosen by him/her/them. Some of these students included singers with a strong musical theater backgrounds, young athletes wanting to be the front men of their budding rock bands, and students with vocal injuries so severe that they could do little more than speak. Instruments: Piano

My lessons include a time to practice piano technique as well as time to learn new pieces. I usually recommend R. and N. Faber books for beginners. I also encourage performances and for those, I let students choose works (classical, romantic, contemporary, jazz, or pop) based on skill level and personal interest. Having a goal for a performance can really help to motivate learning and practicing at home.I also incorporate duets when appropriate. Read More
