I've been interested in music ever since I was little and have been playing music with various instruments since I was in the 5th grade. I focused on saxophone when I was in junior high and continued through high school. It was my first passion even when going off to college. I went to school for Audio Production to learn another set of skills that has served me since 2005. My love of saxophone has been influential in my taste in music and would love to teach others the fundamentals and help them progress. Read More

I began teaching private French horn students in 2011, and I have been teaching music in various ways since then. I have been both a general music and a band teacher, working with students in Preschool through Eighth Grade. With my private students I emphasize regular practice as the best way to improve and keep having fun with an instrument. If the student does not read music, I always try to encourage a few lessons of just learning music theory. I find it very beneficial, even if the student just wants to learn guitar chords or tab. I truly believe that half of my job is simply convincing the student that he or she can do this! A little success goes a long way toward inspiring more practice and desire to learn. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My goal as a teacher is to show students the joys of singing and playing music, while instructing them how to be technically proficient and vocally healthy. Through the process, I encourage singers to appreciate what their strengths are and to recognize their weaknesses as challenges. I like to focus on one technical issue at a time, building upon the current strengths without overwhelming the singers. In essence, I drive my students to improve and set attainable goals so that they can approach singing and playing in a smart, healthy, and happy way. Read More
Instruments: Piano
For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Hannon and Byer for the basic traning, as well as John Thompson. Once the students has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
