No one plays a guitar well when the strings are a half inch off the fretboard! So, I help my students get their guitar setup for optimum playability. I usually do this in the first or second lesson. I have had multiple different instructors throughout my life, and some of them seem to have had their own agenda and what they wanted me to be learning.
