In May 2017 I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music (Drum Set Performance Music Production). My teaching experience dates back to my time in college as I spent many hours working with high-school marching bands and giving individual lessons on drum set and battery percussion. Once I moved to Los Angeles, the focus of my teaching switched to private lessons in students homes and rented studio spaces. After graduating from the Los Angeles College of Music, I was asked back as a substitute to teach their sight reading classes, to assist in styles classes such as Rock and Jazz, and as an assistant running the console in their "Recording for Musicians" class. I use the Suzuki method with all students, however, supplemental material is also used as the student ages and moves through the repertoire. As the student begins to explore their instrument and experiment with different styles, techniques, and repertoire I help guide the student along their musical journey and teach the student the necessary skills to successfully perform/play the piece. Perfection isn't necessary but a good grasp on the concepts and skills that are used across different pieces and applied to repertoire that is picked up in the future. Read More
