I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who would love to work with students and share the beautiful art that is music. I've been studying and playing drumset for 7 years and I am a rising sophomore at Belmont University. There, I am studying commercial percussion with an emphasis in performance and will get my degree in Bachelor of Arts in 2025. After high schoolI attended the Juilliard School. Later I began teaching at a couple local music stores. That is when I discovered my love for teaching. Each student is usually at a different level. For beginning students we focus on breathing, how to make sound that is free and easy, pitch, rhythm, tone and simple sight reading and songs. I make my own lesson plans according to each student's needs. If you already have a good basic knowledge of singing then we move on to improving tone, range, musical knowledge, dynamics and whatever help the student may need with high notes, low notes, fixing the gap between head and chest, belting, or any other vocal challenge they might be facing. For all of my students, regardless of level, playing together in lessons is a big part of my teaching method. Playing together in lessons fosters intonation, musical commutation skills and sound blending. For beginning students, I work a lot on sound production and tonguing through progressive etudes and duets. I incorporate performance environments early into my curriculum. For older students, I explore fundamentals through advanced etudes and work on solo repertoire, chamber music and orchestral excerpts. Read More

My teaching philosophy centers around the goal of my students developing control of their own learning by becoming independent thinkers, problem solving on their own, and understanding critical methods for effective practice and successful performance. I guide this process by asking questions, offering suggestions, and ultimately steering students towards an ownership of their choices.
