Im a composer and musician, and I love learning and teaching how music works. I graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego in 2018 with a Bachelors in Music composition and have been making and teaching music ever since. I started guitar and drum lessons when I was ten years old, motivated by the joy of rocking out and expanded to classical instruction in highschool. This method is especially helpful when I am teaching very young beginning students. I thrive teaching children between 6-9. I emphasize consistent good practice for a short period of time. I encourage my students to fit their practice in transitional times. Practice after dinner, practice before your homework, etc. for 5-10 minutes. It is consistent good practice that allows you to progress faster rather than long unfocused work. I find my students love this idea and it gives them proper freedom in their practice. Read More

I was honored to perform at various venues on Philadelphia's Avenue of the Arts, such as the Kimmel Center. Once the student reaches middle school and has a good concept of fundamentals, we progress to the Himie Voxman Selected Studies and Duets books. For high school and advanced middle school students, I use the Baermann Division III book, the Klose Method, the Rose etudes for clarinet, as well as beginning to introduce appropriate solo repertoire.
