I am a Suzuki and traditional teacher. I encourage public performances as often as possible and will help students identify appropriate opportunities to do so. Students who study with me drive their own education by making choices. You can choose Suzuki or traditional flute lessons. You can choose to focus mainly on classical music, modern music, pop music, or jazz music as suits your tastes. Music should never be stressful to any degree. The goal is to share my love of music and singing with my students so that they may go on to share that passion with others or just to love this art form as much as I do. I am careful in noting a students' progress and am very attentive in what each student needs to succeed. I am a firm believer in the idea that EVERYONE can sing and the only thing holding us back is the lack of knowledge as to what barriers we need to drop and the things we need to do to be able to do so. I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More

I stress the importance of breathing, vowel placement and pronunciation. I utilize technology to provide lyrics, backing track accompniament and inspiring videos.Students love using vocal training apps which give a score like playing a video game.After teaching the basics in my own creative lesson plans for either child or adult, I use a series of vocal training course books from Berkley College of Music.
