My teaching experience dates back to the 1980's where I have taught Music Classes involving singing of worship music in religious elementary schools as well as teaching music theory, and music history. I was also a preschool teacher and taught preschool music enrichment classes. After school hours I enjoy teaching in my own home music studio, but due to pandemic have now switched to online music lessons. Teaching the guitar or drums to my students is very rewarding for it allows me to share my passion for music, keep music alive where as sometimes music is not present enough in this world, and to see my students progress and shine as they smile when they achieve a new musical goal! Having a comfortable, supportive environment for private lessons is very important to me. Nothing is worse than being scared of your private instructor! I like to create a warm environment for my students where they feel safe taking musical risks. I definitely believe in goal setting with my students. I began teaching cello lessons sophomore year in high school and am excited to continue teaching in college. I like to focus not only on the technical aspects of cello playing, but endeavor to make the lessons enjoyable, especially for the younger students. For beginner and novice students I start with discovering where they at playing wise and knowing their instrument. Repertoire wise I believe simple Arban studies and nursery rhymes are all a beginner needs to know to improve their skills. As a student becomes more skilled either Rochut studies or Tyrell's 40 Progressive Studies can really help a student tune their skills. The teaching method focuses on developing a strong ear for music in the students along with concrete musical abilities based on memory, attention, and practice. I am passionate about giving back to this art form that has given so much to me. I specialize in classical voice and have recently finished my education. I have experience singing professionally in operatic productions, as a soloist in concerts and recitals, in choirs and churches. I have also enjoyed singing in smaller venues for children and senior citizens. I love to travel, and singing has given me the opportunity to travel to Germany, France, England, and several areas in the United States. Read More
