Luckily for me, my parents recognized my interest and enrolled me in lessons where I learned to read music before being able to read the words on the pages. I began my teaching experience as an assistant instructor/choreographer for the StarBright! Youth Musical Theatre classes at a local community theatre. Music making and teaching has been my passion since I was young. In 2020, I graduated from the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Music in Choral Music Education. As a child, I participated in choir for 8 years and was in the University of Michigan's University Choir and Orpheus Singers. My main instruments are bass, electric bass and French horn and have a background in all forms of improvised music as well as classical and orchestral repoertoire. My experience in the Air Force Band from 2006-2014 reinforced the skills necessary for professional musicianship that I cultivated at several fine music schools. I am a passionate and enthusiastic teacher. My first teaching experience was my junior year of high school where I got up every Friday morning before school to teach a 6th grade clarinetist who needed some extra instruction as she was blind. It was a sort of "aha" moment in my life where I found out that a career in music education was meant for me.
