I am classically trained with a secondary in jazz guitar. I have exceptional technique and use it for all styles of music. This is how my students climb the ladder faster than others. I also have an exceptional ear, I haven't heard anything I cannot play, so when you bring me something I'll be able to process it right away and begin showing it to you. I have extreme patience (been doing this for 20 years!) and will never make you feel dejected. Read More

Dear student, I am a chill 23 year old musician with a lot of experience with acoustic and electronic production and performance. I would love to work with you learning and even recording piano and guitar. I like to spend my time with my friends vibing to music and other things like hiking, video games, and movies. I am very friendly and down to earth. You will definitely enjoy learning from me because of my nice personality and my experience with music. Read More

Hello! While playing music is one of my favorite thing in the world, it doesn't seem to compare to teaching others how to make music. I'm a University of Michigan student who loves producing and jamming out. I started my musical career at age 10 with the cello, but pretty quickly changed to the piano. My formal education is lacking, but I've spent the last 12 years learning theory and performance through books, articles, and lots and lots of trial and error. Read More

When I start out with a new student I like to see what kind of learning works best for them. Are they a visual, audio or tactical learner? from there I modify each lesson for each individual student. I make sure my lessons are a very positive experience with no criticism. I teach with charts, tablature and standard notation. My primary method of teaching is to have my students study from my own books, in addition to publications by Mel Bay and Hal Leonard. Read More

I take the great things about the Suzuki Method and use them (fun, creativity, by-ear learning, group jams). Then I take the things I don't like about the method and disregard them (pre-established repetoire, no composition or improv). I teach kids how to concentrate, how to teach themselves, how to ignore distractions, and the philosophy for joyful performance without nervousness. The result has been that I have trained hundreds of children to have fun playing music well, plus four of my child students have become national acts. Read More

I've been teaching since I began high school when I started giving private lessons to my fellow orchestra members. Ever since I have constantly taught from my home and through various music studios. I emphasize not only regular technical practice but also the practice of independence in a student and bringing forward their original voice. I love to see students of any age develop as artists and grow a love for music as I have. Read More
