For example, in my experience, something that works for some students, really wont work for others, and if I can identify why something isnt working for a student, I can give them the right tools to fix it. For beginning students I try to go slow and make sure that they get the fundamentals and essentials down. My beliefs are that learning each stage well will help expedite the process of learning and playing later in life. At some point shortly after the fundamentals we will begin on solo literature and possibly duet literature.
