I focus mainly on teaching students basic music theory as I have found and believe that is the best way to become a sucessful musician. My teaching style is kind, respectful, nurturing, and encouraging while also demanding. My greatest pleasure and joy in teaching is when I see and hear the student make obvious progress. A trust is built, both initially and over time, where the student and teacher understand the balance between fun and serious study. The teacher may be firm but must never be harsh, and the student must take the lessons seriously enough to practice regularly and thoroughly. Read More

For each student, I focus on developing healthy practice habits (physically mentally) that allow them to be efficient and rewarded by their time spent with the instrument.
