I aim to help students enjoy practicing, whatever level they are at. This means lessons will be tailored to each student's interest, while still following a structured progression to help them gradually advance. All students will be guided through long tones, scales, technical studies, etudes, and solo pieces. Students at higher levels may also include orchestral excerpts. This is why I work hard to understand what each individual student's goals are, and quickly assess how he or she may achieve those goals. For many people, singing is all about having the confidence to try. I encourage all my students to sing out and not be afraid to make mistakes. I emphasize strengths and am always quick to point out the smallest of victories. Learning to sing is about consistency and knowing you're a work in progress. Even the most accomplished of singers are still learning and growing. I think the best sound comes from a relaxed and comfortable body, which is why I incorporate work on posture and movement to make sure you are uninhibited by body tension or stiffness. Read More
