I work with my students to find practical, healthy solutions to the problems presented by the unique practice demands of percussion and don't push my students to go farther than they are interested in going. I have been working with piano and voice students for more than 20 years. My students came from different cultures and backgrounds. Teaching young piano students is my specialty. Many kids are struggling with focus and discipline, so piano is a tool to improve their focus and discipline. I first started teaching in the summer of 2002 when a friend from church wanted his son to learn drums. His desire was for his son to play one day on the praise team. For me, the biggest thrill as a teacher comes from watching the enthusiasm on the face of my student who is having fun during their lesson. Creating a positive environment, where the student can learn at a pace that will suit their needs, experience, and goals is one of my highest priorities.
