For age 0-4, I have opened Zumbini program for those babies and their caregivers. My piano lessons start at age 4. For those beginner students, I use Piano Adventures from Faber and Faber, typically focused on lesson books, performance books and theory books. When students move on to the higher levels, I will start to introduce easy classical repertoire, such as J.S. Bach or Bergermuller. If my student shows an interest in being able to play a particular piece, then we are working step by step to reach that goal by building up to it. My teaching experience began in 2001, during an after school program. I facilitated a drum circle and taught lessons to kids from ages 8 to 15 years old. This lead to several parents of the students requesting private drum lessons. I have been teaching privately in student's homes over the last 15 years.  I find that defining the student’s goals, and centering the lesson around those goals keeps the individual inspired to progress forward. A pianist from my earliest memories and a piano teacher since 8th grade, I have loved, studied, and taught music for most of my life. I completed a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at Washburn University under the teaching of James Rivers, then completed two Master of Arts Degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary.
