I began began my musical career as an elementary school student selecting the flute as my primary instrument. I dedicated over four hours a day to practice and skill development. My time in high school led me to perform in several high profile venues which include: Orlando Theme Parks, halftime shows with Ronnie Millsap, and The Georgia Mass Choir. My preferred methodology uses the Alfred series books, as well as the Faber Piano Adventure series as supplemental material. I use a combination of note names and intervals to teach reading skills. I also like to incorporate theory into every lesson. Once we have the basics down, I like the student to tell me what he/she would enjoy playing, and I'll do my best to incorporate that, or something similar to that.  Also, I prefer that the student have access to a real piano rather than a keyboard.
