My first job was in the Jefferson Township schools as a middle school band and choir director. In 2002, I became a full time piano instructor at the Columbus Conservatory of Piano. When Lagonda UMC merged with two other Springfield UMC churches to become Faith UMC, I was hired as the organist and choir accompanist. I normally start out with the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures methods books for the piano students. This includes a lesson book and a theory book. The lesson book will teach the student the physical skill of playing piano by presenting them with leveled songs to learn. The theory book will focus more on the mechanics of music and playing and require some written work.
