My methods vary by age group and skill level. I generally use Hal Leonard's Essential Elements for students new to the clarinet then progress to Baermann Scale Studies as well as several different methods depending on the student's ability. In addition to etudes, solo repertoire is introduced, also based on the student's ability. Ive taught private lessons at music stores as well as at my home studio for the last 20yrs. I truly enjoy connecting with students and helping them reach their musical goals. It is great to see students overcome how to play a piece or a lick and get the confidence to apply their new skills in other musical situations. I like to start every lesson with a warmup including breathing exercises and vocalises. Students can either bring in repertoire they'd like to work on or I will suggest material. We will work for freeing the voice in a healthy way while learning repertoire that interests the student. Read More

Sometimes that means working out of a book...there are many great drum books. We can work together to find the one that is right for you.
