I just love to see my students develop a passion for music, especially helping to discover and develop a love of music they didn't even know they had! Each student is unique, so I work with students and their parents to develop personalized goals to help them develop as musicians. I try to be liberal in my encouragement and help my students reach for goals they didn't even know were possible. Read More

My job is of upmost importance; to teach, but also to learn. As an educator I am responsible for encouraging growth and delivering material as efficiently as possible while maintaining a realistic sense of what is achievable. However, it is also my job to learn from the student and be able to adapt and grow to new situations. Not every student progresses at the same rate, but I keep my expectations and spirits high to push students to want to keep learning and working hard to accomplish their goals. Read More

For more advanced students I draw upon the great repertoire of music that is out there. Read More

I love teaching and helping students reach their potential.  I have been teaching music for over 40 years.  I teach beginning to professional level voice lessons from folk and pop to Broadway and Opera. I also teach beginning level piano, violin, viola, cello, double bass, and guitar. My students understand the voice and voice production. I am thrilled to pass on a fantastic technique to the serious opera or Broadway singers who have struggled with unfocused and frustrating techniques. Read More

I basically teach as I've been taught by the masters. There are musical essentials that must be mastered for every musician, with no exceptions. By completing one level of proficiency one moves on to the next level, and so on. Eventually students are able to grow to become masters themselves. This has always been the case throughout history, and in all fields for that matter. Never allow yourself to get bogged down by futility; there is always another way. Read More
