For age 0-4, I have opened Zumbini program for those babies and their caregivers. My piano lessons start at age 4. For those beginner students, I use Piano Adventures from Faber and Faber, typically focused on lesson books, performance books and theory books. When students move on to the higher levels, I will start to introduce easy classical repertoire, such as J.S. Bach or Bergermuller. I always encourage one of the parents to participate our lessons as audience and observe what we are doing, so they can have a tool and knowledge to help their kids between lessons. When parents can involve as our teammate, It will definitely speed up the improvement, and the result will show quickly. When students can play well, the backstage heroes are always the parents. For my voice students, I emphasis on breath support without pushing the voice, so student won’t feel tired easily from singing with a much more projected voice, and I also teach them vocal health.
