After graduation I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston.I have been performing live since I was in middle school in many ensemble settings ranging from jam band to metal. My principle style is jazz (bop/post-bop). Read More

My experience teaching dates back to my late years of high school, as I began teaching private lessons 3 years ago to younger classmates, and students at the local junior high. I am now currently teaching multiple students throughout the Piedmont triad area as well as online Skype lessons in trumpet fundamentals, classical and jazz. Encouraging and establishing a daily routine is a major element in progressing a students ability on their prospective instrument as well as forming a bond and passion for the music. Read More

If the student hasn't put in the time, I will send the student home mid-lesson and they lose that lesson. Read More

What is most important is to keep lessons and practice fun and engaging, whether by playing music the student likes or by achieving a goal such as a recital or competition. Read More

Some are more visual learners whereas others might be more auditory inclined. I modify my teaching style to accommodate the student. Understandably, theory can get mundane, but I try to make learning fun and applicable so a lot of what I teach directly involves playing on the keys instead of writing things in books. Read More
