Depending on the level of the student, there are three structures of lessons I provide.The course for beginners includes introduction to sound, keyboard of piano, touch, playing from the scores, synchronization of hands. It is taught with easy classic exercises and well-known pieces like Scarlatti sonatas,Czerni etudes and Bach's two/three voice inventions. During intermediate level course the main focus is on pedals, basic dynamics of performance, two-three voice patterns and phrasing, Finally, the last but not least, the course for advanced students includes introduction to the form of classical sonatas of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, virtuoso etudes of Chopin, Liszt, more complex articulation and more complex romantic pieces like Hungarian Rhapsodies,Ballads and Scherzi. If for instance, a beginner wanted to be an RB guitarist, we'd select some of his or her favorite players and recordings, identify elements of interest and, in conjunction with his or her current abilities and use that to formulate practice material. I have an eclectic style of teaching and may use different methods for different students. I want my students to be able to understand music and be able to play long after our lessons are over. I strongly believe that everyone is very different.  Learning styles and musical goals are very much a part of this.  Some find reading from a book helps them, so for most students I begin by recommending "A Modern Method For Guitar" from the Berklee Press, however for others a book is not as helpful as listening to some music and watching someone play.  I like to introduce as much theory as is desired from the student because theory is a very important part of the musical process, but if the student prefers to get playing first and understand the “why” later then we can work something out in that regard.  Depending on musical interest, we can work with different genre's and pieces to promote specific techniques and practice routines.
