Of course, everything depends on what you, the student, want to learn! For younger students that are just starting, I've found the Accent on Achievement books to be very helpful in developing the basics of playing. From there, Classically-focused players would learn solo repertoire, Jazz-focused players would learn standards and improvisation, and all the other genres would begin to narrow down their appropriate fields. I tailor each lesson to the individual student and we set realistic goals. Some students want to learn more challenging pieces and we may work on the latter for a few weeks to a even a few months. Other students feel better working on one piece a week and then moving on. I give great constructive feedback to help improve the students rhythm, musicality, musicianship, and finger placement. All of my students practice more when they love a piece so I try to assign them pieces that interest them. Read More

I am a very passionate guitarist and instructor who loves sharing and inspiring others with the love of music. From 2008 to 2012, I studied Classical guitar at the Russian Music Academy in El Monte. In 2017, I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. I have studied classical and jazz guitar, as well as songwriting and arranging.
