Instruments: Cello Music

My style is fun, joking around, but firm and serious.  I expect that my students be prepared for every lesson, but to also have fun at the same time.  I don't want to be stogy, or boring.  So I like to see my students smiling and laughing, but learning and enjoying their instruments.  The more the undesrtand their instruments and laugh the more they will enjoy playing that will lead to more technical advances. I can't describe how rewarding teaching can be. As a parent myself I know how amazing it is to see my kids learning and feeling pride in their achievements. I help my students to set goals that are achievable. I believe a little practice each day is one of the most useful tools to give to a learner. The best way I've found to work with young learners is with play-based approaches. Read More

I am a 32 year old musician. I grew up playing the cello, starting at age 5. I picked up other instruments as I grew older and eventually went to a conservatory. I have performed in a wide variety of contexts throughout my life including professional symphonies and popular music ensembles. I have taught private lessons for 10 years in schools, my studio and in students homes. I have taught all ages and am comfortable with young children. Read More

My teaching style is fun and relaxed but still making sure that you are learning something new in every class, I was a beginner at some point and it brings me joy seeing how the students discover the guitar for the first time because it reminds me of myself when I was just learning. I help set realistic goals to keep the student motivated and guide the student to reach small achievements every week so they can see how fast they can progress with private classes. Read More

Instruments: Piano

Currently, I'm a nineteen-year old student at UCLA! I'm entering my second year come September, and will be majoring in both Piano Performance and Mechanical Engineering. I've played piano for about 15 years now, and have taught for around 6 years alongside my mother who is also a piano teacher. I've had the opportunity to perform all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to small cities in Italy and performing before some of the world's greatest artists. Read More

I mostly do paperless. Less money involved, less waste of papers. I use a lot of videos and recordings. The principal instrument that needs to be trained is the hears. Brain and fingers immediately after. When a method is necessary, based on level of the student and topics studied, I recommend Creative Guitar by Guthrie Govan 1 and 2; Advancing Guitarist by Mick Goodrick and The Lesson by Victor Wooten. This last one is not properly a method, but an incredible book about music and musicians, that teaches more than the big majority of methods out there Read More

Instruments: Violin Cello Viola

At Richland, I was the lead instructor in the areas of string performance and music theory, as well as director of the Richland String Orchestra and the Richland Chamber Strings. Highlights of my performing career have included performances of the Kabalevsky and Shostakovich concertos with the Clear Lake Symphony, the Fort Bend Symphony, and the Houston Youth Symphony. I served as principal cellist of the Henry Mancini Festival Orchestra, performed live with the Danielle Georgiou Dance Group, recorded with the hard rock band Our Last Night (check out the music video below!), and played for several years as part of a Persian-Flamenco fusion band.
