Once students grasp the fundamentals, I like to teach how they relates to the music they listen to. Through this, students can learn how theory and scales become music As we get advanced, I like to move in to scale studies, technical warm ups, and theory. I develop an individual curriculum based on student's needs, ability and level of advancement. Since I do teach adults, I also schedule lessons to fit their life style. Depending of what the student wants, I do develop an individualized lessons. I do believe that beginners do need an introduction to basic music knowledge and methods. I am an active member of Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC). My students take the Certificate of Merit (CM) test annually in performance, theory, sight-reading and ear training. Taking the CM test is optional but highly recommended. I also make sure my students have plenty of chances at performing on stage at recitals by organizing my own recitals or joining forces with other MTAC teachers. After studying Piano Performance at Biola University I went on the road as the guitar player for the rock band Fastball.
