Young children literally have a small voice so they cannot produce the same volume or quality of sound as an adult. For young children that are ready to start training, the lessons are structured to avoid straining the voice. The music chosen for young students is age-appropriate, lyric-appropriate and within the range of a young voice. I try to introduce my students to different styles and genres of music. Their repertoire ranges from dances and songs to variations, concertos and sonatas. In order to be able to play such an array of genres, one requires what I like to call a "laboratory of skills". I began piano lessons in the 2nd grade, and studied flute and guitar, and finally settled on playing French Horn in High School. I took lessons from a horn player in the Detroit Symphony. I majored in French horn and orchestral conducting at the Rubin Academy in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and completed my Undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
