Maya was born in Odessa, Ukraine. She started learning to play piano at the age of five and hasnt stopped since. Maya studied at the Conservatory in Ukraine and achieved Master of Arts in piano performance and piano teaching. Later she accompanied for dancers and singers of the Odessa Theater of Opera and Ballet. Maya teach music to childrens and adults more than 20 years. Although I am not a certified Suzuki teacher, I do utilize the Suzuki books for beginning students. I find that they provide a good breadth of repertoire suitable for students who are new to their instruments. For more advanced students, I use standard repertoire for their instrument, making sure each piece teaches them to hone a skill while also preparing them for big auditions. From there I went to pursue my Master's Degree in Music at the University of Akron, graduating Suma Cum Laude.
