I believe each student is unique, and aim to help the student fall deeper in love with the guitar by meeting them where they are at with their own interests and desires with the instrument. I have had multiple different instructors throughout my life, and some of them seem to have had their own agenda and what they wanted me to be learning. I teach a combination of Rote and verbal, conveying my ideas while playing as an example. I realized my passion for music when I was teaching forty clarinetists during a band camp. They caught on to my personality and knew I wanted the best for them. This ultimately drove them to be better musicians. I teach with an emphasis on tone and sound production. I believe that once we know what sound we want to create we are better able to physically make it happen. Through this ideology I use the Suzuki method and like to prioritize listening and playing by ear before note reading when the students are young beginners. Even if the student is older, I like to incorporate ear training with a mixture of all the skills we must master as musicians--note reading, sight reading, improvising, etc. Read More

I started playing the guitar at age 14. There was just something about it, I would find myself playing for hours on end. The sound, the feel. I loved all facets of playing the guitar. In 1998 I started to get very serious about my playing and started playing professionally in studios, recording for various artists and record labels.
