The student will be playing guitar right away and after a short time will be prepared to study theory, reading and any style they love. For more advanced students I teach blues, classical, acoustic styles and help with songwriting. 1980 - Present- Provide private piano lessons to children and adults; lessons include music theory as well as instrumental practice. Students participated and awarded on state and federal festivals and competitions. If a student isn't having fun in their lessons, then I'm not doing my job! My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. My style of lesson is like water.. No two students are alike. I must first test a beginner to see if they're tone deaf.. An advanced student is tested for any limitations or handicaps. Any good coach would study the student for any weakness, and formulate a viable plan to bridge the gap again to take them further faster..
