In 1977, I graduated from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Performance. In 1999, I was certified to teach Music K-12 by the state of North Carolina after attending NC Central University. Teaching violin has been one of the most meaningful parts of my musical journey. I’ve been teaching privately for over ten years, working with students of all ages and levels—from young beginners just learning to hold the instrument, to advanced students preparing for auditions and competitions. My goal as a teacher is to help students develop a strong technical foundation while also nurturing their individual musical voice. More recently, I have picked up teaching again and currently work with local students in the Piedmont Triad area. I have a strong love of music. I received my Bachelor of Music from East Carolina University and my Master of Music from Anderson University. I have been playing the saxophone for twenty-four years. I have also been a public school general music/band director for five years. I have been teaching saxophone for about twelve years. I am a full-time school teacher and professional musician.
