Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

No matter my students age or initial skill level, whether they are a college student, a child, or an adult, I work to bring out their potential and guide them towards a fresh passion for music. I treat each student as their own individual and guide them along at their own pace. Each lesson, I set whatever goals I believe they can reach by next lesson, and I encourage them to experiment or find music they're interested in to make each lesson a fun experience. Read More

I began teaching guitar a little bit in high school. Than after college began teaching more and more and my experince grew.Ive taught roughly the ages from 5 up to late 60s. The most important aspect of music, for me, is to enjoy what you are doing. I entered the world of music as an escape from my rigorous Engineering curriculum. The last thing I want is for my students to become too stressed or frustrated with their learning. Therefore, I ensure that all students go at a comfortable pace while setting challenging, but realistic, goals for themselves. I will work with my students to set a list of goals and push them in that direction so they can experience the satisfaction that comes with such accomplishments. Read More

My philosophy is a student-first philosophy. I like to cultivate a curriculum around what my student is interested in learning about, whether that be music theory, improvisation, crafting chord progressions and solos, or learning specific songs. I come from a pop/jazz background, and love to work with students on learning songs they loveit keeps the lessons both engaging and educational. Students who are interested in pursuing music in some capacity, or those who wish to improve their chops: I am the teacher for you! Read More

I am familiar with most of the teaching methods available, so my choice of teaching method is tailored to the needs of each student. One student may be working with Schaum's Pre-A Book, while another might be starting out with Thompson's Teaching Little Fingers to Play. This is all to say that there isn't one method that is perfect for all students. My experience with so many approaches helps me to give my students the best possible learning experience. Read More

I believe that there is no "cookie-cutter" way to teach music. It is a very creative art-form which calls for room for creativity. My teaching experience dates back to the early 2000s, I began teaching private lessons part time. In 2009, I began teaching for a local performing arts school full-time. Among the accomplishments of my prior students, I have 3 who have graduated and attended Berkeley School of Music in Boston, 1 graduated from New York Film Academy and is working off Broadway, 1 who graduated from Pace University then went on to perform on Broadway and now is performing along side Rod Stewart, I have 2 who are now teaching music, and a number of others who are in college, have graduated, or are recording, writing and/or performing nationally and internationally.
