Instruments: Piano Music Keyboard Djembe
I believe the most important aspect of learning an instrument is enjoying it! Taking up a new instrument can be very enjoyable, but it is also a long-term commitment. The goal for the studio is to produce life-long musicians that will come to cherish and appreciate music and find joy in playing an instrument. My love for teaching is displayed through my commitment to each and every student, giving them the knowledge that they need in order to succeed. Read More

I teach how to read music and mainly use Faber & Faber method for both children and adults. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Faber and Faber primer level. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce scales and solo repertoire. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More
Instruments: Trombone Euphonium Music
My methods are fairly simple. No matter the age or experience level, fundamentals are key. This includes proper embouchure, good posture, effective warm ups, and a consistent practice routine. Once the fundamentals are secure, especially for younger students, I like to move on to more "fun" music, such as Rochut etudes or beginner level solo music. Besides fundamentals I believe the most important element in playing brass instruments successfully is confidence. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I do not usually follow any method book as every student is different, has different background, goals and aspirations. I try to mix exercises/methods that I use in my practice with materials of accomplished pedagogues. I have my set of warm-ups that I use on saxophone, clarinet, and flute; I often find myself using flute method while playing the saxophone which only pushes my and my students abilities and makes them better musicians. Instruments: Piano Organ Synthesizer
I've been playing keyboards since the age of ten. I graduated from Arizona State University where I studied music theory and composition. I have a special passion for composing music, and finished 3rd place nationally in the Music Teacher's National Composition Competition in 1987. As a professional musician, I've toured with The Fortunes, and performed with The Coasters and Ritchie Havens. I have just completed my third CD, titled Jazzed Up. I enjoy performing and teaching all styles of music including, classical, jazz, and pop, and love sharing my passion of music with my students. I believe that music instruction should not only be educational, but also enjoyable, exciting and rewarding. Read More
Instruments: Violin Electric Violin
I especially love to teach those who are beginning because, throughout my teaching, I really emphasize having correct body alignment, posture, and just an overall solid physical foundation, as that really sets up the students for a better and healthier musical career in the long run. However, if a student is farther along in their musical career, there is no need to fear, because I love teaching all levels, and it is just as possible to teach that physical foundation in a student that is farther along as it is to teach someone who has a fresh start.
