I just recently moved to the Greater Phoenix Area. I have a very strong passion for singing and bringing music to others. I have three degrees in opera, but I have worked professionally singing everything from standard ballads to gospel songs. Performing all over the world has given me the opportunity to sing and learn things about other cultures that I would otherwise never have known about. I use several methods; Royal Conservatory of Music, Alfred, and Faber to name a few. These publishers provide lesson books, theory, and pieces. The selection of books will vary because there is no "one size fits all" solution. I introduce fundamentals, then solo pieces in various styles. Often same concepts are used in different types of music. So for example, musical structure within a piece can be shown in classical and even popular music! Read More

Beginning students for woodwinds (flute, clarinet, saxophone) usually start with the Essential Elements book. As they advance the next books are usually Breeze Easy book 2 followed by the Rubank Intermediate and Advanced Methods. Advanced students will break into instrument specific methods. Flute with use methods such as The Melodious Studies and Pares scales books, clarinets with use the Klose books and Saxophone students will use Ferling and Klose studies. Students wishing to study jazz methods will use either the Jim Snidero or Walt Weiskopf methods. Read More
