I took guitar lessons, bass lessons, as well as piano lessons when I was a kid. I also interned at music studios and sat in on live audio gigs to learn that aspect as well. I have been playing for artists/bands live and in the studio (primarily on bass guitar) for almost 15 years now. From country, gospel, blues, to classic rock. Most of my experience teaching is with small children. Read More

I teach music as a way of life. To be able to inspire, motivate and enrich a student's life through music has limitless possibilites. Strengthening one's self-esteem and dynamic expression through music can tranform one's life. Everyone has the potential to create. It takes willingness and courage to go beyond the musical note. My commitment as a teacher is to give students the opportunity to express themselves through music in their own unique way. Learning to play a musical instrument can be fun! Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I like to have a balance in my lessons between fun and challenge. I do this by setting realistic goals each week for my students, dependent on their level of perfomance and the pace that they are progressing. Not everyone will progress at the same pace, and I feel that it is more important for a student to master a particular lesson than to move quickly through the lesson book. Read More

I'm a 22-year-old music lover! I have played guitar since I was 10 years old and have taught and played with several people throughout the world. I've performed in college classes, community events, and church devotionals. I have taught people from age 8 up to 40 and absolutely love it! Music helps me express myself and teaching others how to do the same is my greatest passion! Not only do I love teaching people, but I love getting to know them as well. Read More
Instruments: Guitar
For beginning students, I would like to start with knowing exactly where they are at with guitar; how to hold it, how to tune it, how strum it. Once the student understands those fundamentals, I like to start on open chords with easy fingerings (usually learning chords is very exciting since you can hear what you are accomplishing). With that, I would like to get to know the student and understand what the student wants out of the lessons; what they like to listen to, what they want to learn, what is difficult for them, etc. Read More

For beginning students that are in middle or high school, I typically start them out learning snare drum technique, and reading rhythms. Fortechnique I will use standard exercises and rudiments, and for readingI will use "Syncopation for The Modern Drummer".If the student has a drumset then I will start them with some basic "Rock" beatsas a tool to help thembetter understand the subdivision of time, and form some independence. Most of my students move into Gary Chester's "The New Breed" as their first drumset book. After teaching for 25 years, I have developed a lot of my own lesson meterials, and I try to cater the lesson plans to both challenge the students and keep them having fun learning.
