I structure my lessons so that each student knows exactly what to expect each week. We begin with Warmups, Scales, Technique, Sight-reading in piano and/or voice. Then we move onto the literature, checking posture for both Voice and Piano. We recap, at the end of each lesson, so that any questions may be answered. I started playing acoustic folk styles in 1962 and added 60's rock and more as time went on. I joined my first rock band in 1965 and have now played all styles of rock, blues, folk, country, bluegrass, jazz, and contemporary Christian and worship music. I attended Highland High School, was concert master my freshman year in the Sinfonia (second highest orchestra at the school) and was in the Symphonic Strings/Orchestra (the top orchestra) for my remaining three years, and was concert master by my senior year. I performed in solo competitions regularly, as well as forming my own quartets, duos, and trios of various styles (from bluegrass, to contemporary, to classical).
