I began teaching shortly after graduating from college, not expecting that teaching would be something I'd be too keen about. However, it has really grown on me and I love the gift of giving music to prospective students and watching them grow and learn as I once did. I have been teaching at various locations/businesses throughout the NJ area from as south as Swedesboro to as north as Trenton. Read More

I provide all music work sheets that we learn from that involve chords, scales, tabliture, notes...etc. Music is based upon the students current skill set, and what their interests are pertaining to music. The overall goal is to further develop musical talent at an appropriate pace in a comfortable teaching environment, that allows the student ask questions, try new things, and explore their insturment in ways they may not have imagined before. I started playing the flute before 6th grade and instantly fell in love with the flute and with music. Inspired by the wonderful music teachers I had over the years, I strive to provide that same level of care, knowledge, fun, and passion for music to all of my students. In 2011, I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. I am originally from Michigan and moved to Indiana to earn a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance from Ball State University. Read More

I have a diverse portfolio of performance experiences ranging from large ensembles to chamber music, and from solo recitals to new music premiers. Professionally, I have worked as a freelance musician across the country playing holiday ceremonies to pops concerts, and various other recordings projects. Diversifying my playing experiences has helped me to be a well rounded and knowledgeable performer, that I impart to my students. During my undergraduate degree at the University of North Texas, I frequently performed chamber music with my colleagues in the surrounding community and discussed the importance of music in schools. -Practicing is important, but the most essential way to improve is to USING THE CORRECT METHOD TO PRACTICE. -A wrong way to practice the piano might lead a dead end no matter how long you spend on the piano, but a good method will cost you less than half the energy to yield the best result in piano playing. -I use the simplest and correct methods to help you play the piano, which was discovered and summarized by my piano knowledge and experience combined with my professors' guideline which was from the Juilliard School, New England Conservatory and the Jacobs School of Music. For piano, I typically use the Faber Piano Adventures Series; however, I am open to other method books as well. The Faber series has theory, technique, lesson, and performance books, each with different skills and techniques to learn. I find that those books offer the most comprehensive learning. In addition to the Faber books, I also utilize online worksheets for supplemental learning. For guitar, I typically use online worksheets and chord sheets, and from there, I encourage students to purchase specific guitar books they are interested in (for example, Disney books, classic rock books, Beatles books, etc.).
