Music Lessons in Moro, IL

Instruments: Voice

Meet the student where they are at and take them where they want to go. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments help fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. Read More

Over the past two years I have had the privelige to play at some of the largest Blues festivals in the world, and have also played in Germany, Norway, Poland, and Canada. I have something unique and wonderful to share with people, music. Making music brings joy to students - teaching them how to explore their creativity and artistry, express themselves, and grow to become more confident and capable people. I also believe that Piano Lessons should be fun. Since I generally teach one on one, lessons can be tailored to each student and I add supplementary material to the Piano course as soon as possible based on the student’s progress and interests.  I am willing to add supplementary music in most any genre from current radio hits, to Pop Standards and soundtracks, as well as Holiday Music based on the student’s culture. Music lessons are not math class. It is first important to discover what the student is interested in learning. I balance the learning of material that the student is interested in with excercises and other concepts that I know to be important for any musician. I always encourage students to play with their peers! Read More

For young beginner students (Ages 3-7) I typically start them with the Music for Little Mozart Series (4 books total). I pair that with fun music games, rhythm practice, listening activities and other misc. activities. At this age it is difficult for them to sit at the piano bench for the whole lesson so we only spend about half the lesson (but split up) at the piano and the other half learning basic music concepts through games. Instruments: Voice

As every voice is unique, it is important to me that the lessons I give are personalized for each student. It is always my goal to unlock the singer's true, natural voice, so that they can create their own personal sound. I use a functional bel canto method that focuses on a natural expression of the voice and an active breath and resonance. This ensures a healthy sound production, avoiding undue pressure on the vocal folds. Read More
