I use what I like to call the 'journal method' in my teaching. At the end of each lesson, according to the progress a student has made, I will write a number of assignments in a journal the student brings every week. This way, a student can move forward in some techniques while giving more focus to another area that still needs a little work. I taught group music courses for children ages 4-12 in a seasonal camp for 2 years, and I found out that combining body movements not only helps improve children's singing technique and posture but also makes students enjoy and relax more.
