I use what I like to call the 'journal method' in my teaching. At the end of each lesson, according to the progress a student has made, I will write a number of assignments in a journal the student brings every week. This way, a student can move forward in some techniques while giving more focus to another area that still needs a little work. I always focus on proper and healthy singing technique, therefore, for every student, I start with physical and vocal warm up in order to develop fundamental skills of breathing and support. Then I move on to songs or arias (classical or pop), adjusting good vowels and body tensions to improve resonance and efficiency in singing. As an artist, I believe in working to broaden the cultural horizon of this instrument through the arrangement and performance of works from around the world. I am a dedicated and passionate instructor who loves watching students improve and succeed. In 2015, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. I attended Wright State University to earn my Master of Music degree in Flute Performance and worked as a graduate teaching assistant during my time there. I graduated from Wright State in 2017.
