Instruments: Piano Violin Viola
For violin and viola lessons, I start my beginning students off with the violin/viola instrument hold as well as the bow hold. Once one has gotten the feel for holding the instrument as well as the bow, I teach the student the open strings of the instrument, followed by a one octave scale, with basic note reading exercises. After that, I begin the student on the Suzuki method. For piano students, I start by teaching beginning students three notes in treble clef (right hand) and bass clef (left hand). Read More

I am a dedicated and passionate instructor who loves watching students improve and succeed. In 2015, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Flute Performance. Instruments: Voice
Mistakes are how every singer improves! With older students, I want to help students learn to recognize their own mistakes and areas they can improve on. I will always be ready to help them on trouble areas or encourage them when they get it right, but I want them to learn how to recognize it on their own so they can develop outside of a lesson! This comes from having them identify: where something didn't go as planned, why didn't it, and what can they do to improve it the next time. Read More

Scientifically speaking, our brains are trained to be "goal achievers". Thus, I always ask my students what three goals we need to work on before my lesson begins. For this purpose, we can not only create efficiency in learning but also feel great after achieving the goals. Also, I care about mindfulness. Every person has one's own difficulties and challenges. Therefore, I give my students a very friendly, safe, and open-minded environment to express their emotion. Read More

Music education is a staple in a child's development and sparks creativity and a specific type discipline that isn't found in other areas of study. Ryan recognizes this, and understands the importance of connecting with each student and helping grow a passion for music and basic fundamentals required to perform at a high level. Ryan's pedagogicalemphasis is the reinforcement of correct fundamentals from an early age. Through exercises, etudes, scales, and solos, Ryan personalizes lessons to make each student discover their musical potential. Read More

I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I enjoy the excitement of a first-time student making their first sound to sight-reading duets with more experienced students. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. Keeping things fun and interesting is vital to every student's success and I pride myself on getting to know each student on a personal level to achieve this goal. Read More
