I find these books to provide a good basis for music reading and building the required skill set to master their instrument. My goal will be to teach the student how to practice independently. I recommend setting up a practice schedule so that they know when they are supposed to practice. If the student is struggling with any of the weekly assignments, that is ok! Simply let me know at the next lesson so I know right where to help. When others are involved in the lesson it can cause a student to become self conscious and therefore effects their progress.
