I began teaching piano in high school and continued into my college years. I then spent the next decade touring in bands and recording in some of the top studios in Los Angeles. I have worked with some of the best in the business including Rick Rubin, John Shanks, and Jason Falkner, just to name a few. These experiences have given me the knowledge of being a musician in the real world, which I try and impart to my students.

Singing is a deeply personal experience, therefore each lesson is tailored specifically to the student's needs and wants. I specialize in the classical Bel Canto technique and teach this to all my students. This will create a solid technical foundation so then the student is free to explore any genre that interests them. Even though I am an opera singer, I enjoy working with my students on musical theater, pop, jazz, and much more! What is most important is that my students find joy in singing, and I will guide you to do that in a way that is healthy for your voice. As a teacher, I think it is valuable to develop the complete musician, not only the voice. In lessons, we will also discuss music theory, diction, interpretation, phrasing, music history, etc.

For piano lessons I generally prefer to use the Alfred curriculum, but am well versed in other options should the student already be accustomed to certain styles.  I have assisted students with their Certificate of Merit completion, and worked several students through the entire Alfred curriculum, till they went on to achieve collegiate scholarship opportunities.  As a voice teacher, I employ a Bel Canto technique, and specialize in a Musical Theater Style and Classical Background.  Vocal health and proper technique are essential to my teaching methods, and of course, having fun!

Whenever I take on a new student, I like to start with a consultation that allows us to get to know each other as fellow musicians.  While I assess the student's aptitude, strengths, and challenges, I also like to learn what inspires them, what their personal musical tastes are, and where they find their joy. Going forward, I start each lesson with a gentle yet thorough warm-up tailored specifically to the student's needs.  Afterwards, I like to spend a bit of time sharing techniques and exercises that could help the student overcome any particular challenges they've been experiencing.  Each lesson concludes with song work.  It is important to me that the student and I choose their pieces collaboratively, so we can build their repertoire with music that inspires them while it ushers them closer to their musical goals.  If the student is going to be practicing a piece of music, I want to be sure it will be something they will love!

For the begginer I like to start by exploring and accessing their ability to do anything musical in the drumset while showing them some very basic and familiar drum beats. Shortly after I introduce them to the foundations and building blocks of drum playing through visual, auditive cues as well as introducing music theory knowledge. Music reading is one of the most important skill to learn as you progress. Drum Books will be used for the classes For intermediate and Advance , I also make an accessment to find out where they are in terms of drum technique, drum culture, all the music styles that they are familiar as well as unfamiliar with. After first meeting Im able to create a program which we will use as our guideline trhoughout the classes.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
