Instruments: Cello
More than anything else, I try to grow a love for the cello and music, because without a passion, lessons can be a drag (trust me, I know!). I try to incorporate some of the student's other interests into the lessons, ie. pop music, art, even science! I also place a lot of value on progressing at the student's own pace and understanding when a student doesn't really like a particular piece, not to spend too much time on it. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
Having received an excellent, unique, and non-standard musical education on piano and voice in Russia, I got inspired by my teacher to share the knowledge , skill sm and love I have to music with others. My tutoring on piano includes proper playing techniques, musical hearing, sheet music reading, development of musical intuition. My tutoring on voice includes musical hearing, proper breathing, proper sound production. I've been performing since age 4, both on piano and voice. Read More
Instruments: Drums Conga
One of the many ways I begin a lesson with a student is by asking them what type of music they enjoy listening to and playing. Once we have this initial discussion, I begin to build the foundation for the lesson plan and my teaching. For example, if a student mentions they enjoy playing Rock and Roll, I will begin with that particular style and simplify it for them. As a music instructor, I like to listen to my students play and then address the areas that need to be addressed with them. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet Music
I was born in Newark New Jersey in 1948 and began a life long love affair with the Trumpet at the age of three and a half years old. By the age of twelve I was performing in local clubs and was exposed early on to Newark Jazz greats such as Sarah Vaughn, Wayne Shorter, Woody Shaw and Larry Young. In 1966 through 1969 I attended the University of Wisconsin and majored in music. Read More
Instruments: Voice
I am a charismatic and vivacious voice instructor who believes one voice can change the world! As a recent graduate from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, I am trained in all aspects of the performing arts. Throughout high school I sang classically, and continued studying the style of musical theater. I have had the opportunity to perform all over the East Coast with different titles such as; Outstanding Miss Eastern America, Outstanding Miss of America, and America's Homecoming Queen. Read More
Instruments: Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion Latin Percussion Music
I am a classically trained, working percussionist with a passion for bringing music to life. I graduated from Wittenberg University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in percussion performance and participated in multiple honors ensembles as principal percussionist while enrolled. I have performed professionally at a variety of events around Austin, Texas, including with the Austin Klezmer Band and the Austin Civic Orchestra. In my own music practices, I strive to be both technically skillful on all percussion instruments from the marimba to the snare drum to the cymbals and, yes, even to the triangle, as well as musically knowledgeable in order to manifest musical interpretations that are just as expressive as they are contextually appropriate. Instruments: Voice
This consistency will help them gain a passion for their instrument and help them make progress as fast as they choose. Learning an instrument takes time and energy, which means students need to put in the work! The work they put in for their instrument should have love. I am an avid songwriter, and I encourage students to compose their own music as well. I also love performing, and performing is a key aspect to keep in mind when learning music. Read More
