Instruments: Piano Voice

Having pursued music from a young age, my experiences as a vocal soloist and choir member have brought me all over the world, performing in such musical landmarks as the Sydney Opera House, Smetana Hall, and Carnegie Hall. I grew up learning both voice and piano, and my musical education has provided me more confidence and opportunities in all aspects of life than I ever could have imagined. I began teaching while pursuing my undergraduate degree in California and have since expanded my studio to include a wide spectrum of ages, styles, and experience levels. In 2012, I received my BA in Music with an emphasis in classical voice from Pepperdine University and have since gone on to complete my MM in Voice Performance from The Boston Conservatory. For a beginning student on guitar, I have them learning notes from a Hal Leonard, Mel Bay, or Alfred starter book. All these books are great, but I believe it depends on the individual student and how they learn. I also teach tab to beginners. I feel it is important to read tabs these days as well as notes. I also work with music theory. It is also important to know what you are doing, not just putting your fingers on the strings. Read More

Instruments: Piano Voice Violin Fiddle

I began teaching beginner piano when I was in middle school and caught the teaching bug! (My dad was a high school choir teacher for thirty-five years, so I must have caught it from him.) Now I teach violin/fiddle, voice and piano. I believe that learning classical music and sight reading are both fundamentals to begin learning any instrument. However, I love to teach other styles as well! I would love to work with budding musical theater performers who want to work on musicianship skills and/or learn piano/violin. Read More

Soon I was asked to teach the other dancers to sing as well, and those were my first singing students. I’ve been teaching singing ever since. Even though Musical Theater is my first love, many of my students study a wide variety of music styles and bring personal storytelling skills to all music. They perform at open mics, school showcases, local musicals, churches, and clubs. Several have started touring bands or become professional singers/songwriters with their original songs receiving radio airplay. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to the summer after my Sophomore year of High School. I was a teaching assistant at a four week summer camp called The Summer Arts Workshop. I taught drama and music classes, students grades 5 - 12. In my classes are created group lessons, opportunities for student performance, and facilitated community building between the students. It was also up to me to teach the music for the musical. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
