Instruments: Trumpet
I believe that no two students are alike; for each of my students, I create an individual, custom-tailored plan and routine to help solve the most challenging issues in their playing. I advise my students to keep a practice log and write down everything they accomplish and challenges they notice in a practice session. What went well? What didn't go so well? Writing things down provides us with a timeline of progression to see what works and what doesn’t. Read More
Instruments: Violin Viola
Since I was in high school, I have been very passionate about teaching violinists and violists of all ages and levels. I began playing at the age of four studying the Suzuki Method and mainly use the Suzuki Method to guide my teaching. In addition to teaching, I have had the opportunity to perform all over America and much of the world, including Canada, China, much of Europe, and Israel. Read More

My intermediate students I like to pull form either the Klose for clarinet students, the Trevor Wye books for flute, and Ferling for saxophone. My advanced students I like to introduce solo repitoire as well as more advance studies on their respective instruments, as well as more comprehensive scale and tone exercises. I love to focus on technique and musicality, and with that musical reading ability falls right into place. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Recorder Mallet Percussion
I enjoy teaching all ability levels, and different genres of music. I believe that my students are the ones who motivate me to be a better teacher. If they don't enjoy what I am teaching them and aren't learning something new, then I am not doing my job properly and am also not enjoying myself. I am really looking forward to branching out and meeting new students in the near future! Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone
My teaching style is fairly laid-back, allowing each student to progress at their own pace. This allows me the freedom to tailor the instruction to the specific needs of the student and successfully find what creates their individual passion. I also believe that - especially in creative mediums like music and art - every negative critique I point out needs to be accompanied by at least two positive critiques. This positive reinforcement will help push students to progress rather than pushing them down, and all I want is to see the people I teach grow as both budding musicians and people. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Bass Guitar Electric Guitar
I do not posses large amounts of formal teaching experience, but everyone has to start somewhere, right? I have taught a few friends a handful of basic concepts on guitar, as well as some basic theory knowledge. I have had experience trying to teach younger children (under 10), and have found that most children that age have a hard time grasping theory concepts, as it involves counting in cycles and can become confusing for them. I've actually written and produced my own music theory book that was in all Borders stores before they closed down. I've learned a few methods and I try to incorporate them all unless the student or parents wants something specific. My method is a method where I can teach 1 thing countless ways. I love my students to learn theory because it is a very important backbone to music. Some people can play instruments without ever really kwoing what they are playing or understand the theory behind it, and I think it holds them back from truely being creative and understanding of music. With my methods students will be able to play from any genre, any book, and hopefully will be able to create their own music. Read More
