Dating back to 2019, I was teaching students part time at the local middle schools in my hometown. I have since moved away and I am looking to get back into teaching. As someone who had gaps of time where I did not have a teacher, I feel that having someone there to encourage you to keep going and to keep learning is the most important to ensure success. I realize many students will learn at different paces so it's important to work with kids on an individual level to make sure they're learning most effectively. For younger students, I'll usually use their band music or band methods to supplement class work, as well as offering my own exercises to strengthen fundamentals.
