It is my philosophy that every student is unique and therefore it is necessary to adapt lessons for each student. This individualized approach results with a personalized approach in order to accomplish the specific goals of the student. I teach both formalized and personal methods that guarantee results. I am well versed in music theory and various practice techniques. I believe that learning to read music and tabs can be helpful but not essential to learning how to play an instrument. Read More

However, careless teachers have driven many students away from a musical life, and left indelible scars on others. Thus, it is with the greatest respect and acknowledgment of responsibility that I approach my teaching style. Read More

I have also enjoyed working in the Memphis (Tennessee) City Schools whenever I am in my hometown, as well as working in the Bayonne, NJ and other schools to teach in classrooms whenever possible. As a private instructor, I believe that it's important for a child to think of their lessons as a special time that is set aside for their music/cello and I always traveled to my own teacher's studio and that was our cello place for lessons, so I think it is important for my students/parents to travel to my studio as well. Instruments: Cello
I grew up with music all around me. Both of my parents play classical instruments like the cello and violin. My childhood home was filled with sounds of classical and chamber music. Therefore, it is not so surprising that I too chose to move in the direction of music. I went to Bard College with no clear intent on what to do, but I continued to play in orchestras and chamber music groups, and knew that no matter which degree I chose, that I would always love playing the cello.
