I like to use custom lesson plans. I evaluate the student's playing and ask what they want to improve on and/or want to learn. Based off of this, I might use rhythmic study exercises from Ted Reed's "Syncopation" or hand patterns from the book "Stick Control", playing on both a practice pad and the kit. I like to have students play a simple 8th note groove, backbeat on 2 & 4 and incorporate bass drum precision exercises, eventually using different hi hat patterns. Read More

I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Music Education, with a minor in Percussion Performance. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to perform several nights a week around Austin, and to have toured the US multiple times during the past two years. In September 2010, i was the drummer for the band " The Secret ", we won the  first place in the “EUROVOICE” contest with our song “In the Arms of My Angel”. I moved to Austin, Texas (USA) in February 2013 to continue my musical career. For beginner students, it is important to start with the basic fundamentals and techniques, but once those are mastered, there is more freedom to explore. For intermediate students, we work on filling in gaps they may have in their current understanding of music/guitar, and anything else they want to work toward.
