My method is based on each student's age, skill level, enthusiasm/interest level, and their wants/needs. For beginner students, it is important to start with the basic fundamentals and techniques, but once those are mastered, there is more freedom to explore. For intermediate students, we work on filling in gaps they may have in their current understanding of music/guitar, and anything else they want to work toward. For advanced students, what we work on is really just up to the student and whichever areas they would like to improve in. Read More

I absolutely love teaching!I see myself as being a gentle, yet firm instructor. I like to get to know my students and understand their goals. I love to ask my students questions. I am a very patient person and teacher. I listen to the students thoughts and concerns; I listen to what the student is telling me while they play. I will challenge my students, and push them to reach further, while not being inconsiderate of their happiness. Read More

Teaching is something that comes natural to me. Sharing the experience of learning a new skill to mastering it, is very rewarding to me. I enjoy motivating and making a hobby or passion fun and fulfilling for an individual to experience. Ear training therefore is a large component. I do use the time honored texts by Hal Leonard and Alfred publications or some from Mel Bay and those from Jay Traylor as well as many others such as the Real Book and Greg Fishman texts. Read More
