I was born in August 1984 in New Halkidona-Athens, Greece. At the age of 7, I started my musical education by taking piano lessons. I did not finish my piano studies but the fire of music was burning strong inside me, and at the age of 15 i decided to study drums. I have come up my own way to approach teaching music theory to students because traditional way of music theory teaching in school is too vague for most beginner students. My interest in guitar started in 2000 when I was in the fourth grade. I can still remember that day in music class when the teacher was showing us different kinds of instruments. Holding the guitar somehow felt right and interesting to me. I started taking guitar lessons, but within a couple of years of that, I was starting to find that I didnt really need the lessons to learn how to play songs because I was picking them up on my own. I started playing snare at 10 and drumset at 14 focusing mostly on rock drumming. I played quads and quints in marching band in high school and bass drum in college. I then studies jazz and percussion at Grand Rapids Community College and Grand Valley State University. I then studied Music composition at University of North Texas. I played church drums through out all of this as well as with jazz trios, rock bands, and cover bands. Read More

I believe in shaping a lesson around the student. First, I find out what the student wants to focus on more, whether it is notation and musical theory, or learning a few basic chords, strumming patterns and such, to be able to play their favorite songs. No matter their ability, this method of teaching is effective because I find that it keeps the students interested and engaged. A mix of theory and technique is always encouraged, but ultimately, I create the lessons around what the student wants. Read More
