I began teaching voice lessons my senior year of high school. When I got to college I began work as a show choir director in Hartford, CT. I have learned so much from my students. I have learned to teach in a way that students of all ages will understand. An example of this is teaching a young student how to use their head voice when singing high notes. I graduated from the Hartt School of Music of the University of Hartford in 2013 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance. The operatic roles that I performed while at the Hartt School include Leila in Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe and The Strawberry Woman in Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess. If a student isnt committed to one particular type of method book, I usually suggest the Standard of Excellence series because I feel it has a logical order of progression in terms of concepts.
