if you're a righty we will lead with the left. If you are a lefty we will lead with the right. I focus on evenness while playing and the only way to do that is to work on your "non-dominate" side. Every student; Beginner, novice or professional I work with on this. It opens you up to better independent drumming. We work on reading, writing, counting, sticking technique, rudiments, and drumset grooves for beginners. Read More
Instruments: Saxophone Clarinet
I concentrate on tone production and development of relaxed breath and embouchure control. Finger dexterity follows as matter of course, but good tone production is the key to playing the clarinet and saxophone. Read More

I set realistic goals for all of my students to progress their education while at the same time letting them stay inspired. I take a big initiative to find out what kind of music my students listen to as well as what inspires them. By knowing a students musical preference and learning style it helps me be more successful teaching them. We will track their development and we'll acknowledge accomplishments! Read More
Instruments: Voice
At the beginng of the first lesson I like to ask my student about their musical experience, interest and if they have any over arching goals, and after that I warm them up and teach them part of a simple song either from a popular musical or (for my younger students) Disney song in order to hear the maturity, tonality, and range they are starting with. If my students do not have a particular song or songs picked out then I assign songs, trying to adhere to the student's interest, during the second lesson. Read More

I taught a few very young students whose moms wanted them to try out the instrument and learn some fundamentals, and I taught a few older students who just wanted to know how to play some of their favorite songs. With all of my students, I paid attention to their unique needs and goals, and I worked together with them to fashion out a path that would best achieve their personal goals. Read More

My teaching began in the late 1990's as professional musician in the United States Marine Corps teaching new Marine Musicians how to double & triple tongue and play minor scales as well as Greek Modes.I enjoyed the challenge of teaching someone a skill or technique. My reward is watching the lightbulb come on and them master the new skill. I have played professionally for over 15 years and taught flautists during this time. Read More
